BIOGRAPHY
Johanne Lavigne obtained a bachelor's degree in fine arts from Concordia University as well as a bachelor's degree in art education from the Université du Québec à Montréal. She is currently working as an art educator at the Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal, where she has worked for several years. Her works are in private collections, and have been exhibited in group shows, namely at the Leonard and Bina Ellen Art Gallery, Isart Gallery and the Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Johanne Lavigne is a landscape artist. In her paintings, she
emphasizes the spatial concepts of depth in order to engage the viewer in her composition. The play with light and the rich use of colors create a mood and bring
emotion to her work.
