Elise Zylinska has been exposed to the world of art from an early age, her father George Zylinski was a commercial artist and muralist and had his studio in their home in Baie D’Urfée where she grew up. Elise obtained a DEC in Commercial Interior design from Dawson College in 1985 and began her career as a Designer. She is currently working on multiple projects in the commercial office and hospitality sector. Elise is a certified member of the APDIQ “Association professionnelle des designer d’interieur du Quebec” , the IDC “ Interior Designers of Canada” as well as the Hudson Artist Association. Elise states “I have been preparing coloured sketches, perspectives, renderings and CAD technical drawings of design solutions for my Commercial/Residential Clients and improving my drawing skills over the last 38 years of my career, “I felt it was about time I paint for pleasure”.

Elise was drawn to the canvas and began some of her own pieces, exploring the use of oils, acrylics, ink and gouache. Elise has commissioned several of her pieces privately, and has participated in several of the Hudson Artist’s exhibitions and Studio tours.

Pottery and weaving: Over the years Elise inherited a 45” Nilus Leclerc loom from her maternal Grandmother, a pottery wheel from her paternal Grandmother, and a kiln from her cousin. Elise had used the loom in the past making carpets, wall hangings and place mats etc.. “Currently the loom is in storage but perhaps one day I will set it up again”. Recently Elise set up a pottery studio in her home and has started selling her functional stoneware pieces at the Hudson Street Fair, Studio Tours, and privately. “Everything I create is made with love and my creative mind is never bored!”
