My journey into drawing and art began at a very young age. In 1996, I took a year-long oil painting course with Sylvain Riel. I started drawing and painting again in 2017. That same year, I took a drawing course with the Des Brésoles workshop.
I’ve tried several mediums: acrylic, dry pastel, flash gouache, Posca, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, Molotow acrylic markers, oil paint sticks, spray paint… On canvas, wood panel, paper…
My recent work is mainly animals. I chose to depict animals in action on a parchment-style background inspired by James Audubon (19th-century naturalist). However, I use colors inspired by the Impressionist approach. This series uses acrylic on canvas.
I regularly visit art galleries and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. This helps me avoid copying the techniques of existing artists or works from the past while discovering works that have had a major impact on art history in Quebec.
