I’ve always loved art. I used to draw cartoons to amuse myself but I stopped in my early teens. I didn’t see myself doing art for a living so I focussed on other things. Years later, I had to draw a grasshopper for a biology class and that’s when I remembered how much I enjoyed drawing.
I earned my BSc in Exercise Science from Concordia University and ended up working at Concordia in IITS (an IT department) as a consultant for many years. While working at Concordia, I also earned a BA Honours in English Literature and Creative Writing.
The pandemic came and it was time to retire. I decided to learn to paint watercolours and that has been my favourite pastime for the past two years. I enjoy painting florals, landscapes, architecture and animals. I’ve just started learning acrylic painting as well. So far I’m learning on my own. I have been following tutorials online and working on exercises from instructional books.
Retirement is great. I finally have time to devote to painting and drawing. And I’m very happy to join the Artistes Hudson Artists group. I want to take workshops and learn as much as I can.
