I began taking weekly oil painting classes in the late 1980s simply for the joy of it, and I was immediately hooked. What started as a creative outlet quickly grew into a passion that carried me to workshops across Canada, into the landscapes of France, and to the vibrant art communities of Scottsdale, Arizona. My journey even brought me to Las Vegas, where I attended the first Plein Air Convention alongside artists I had long admired.

Painting is where I lose myself for hours—fully absorbed in colour, light, and the quiet rhythm of the process. But the heart of my work lies in connection. My greatest joy comes from seeing someone pause in front of a piece, smile, or feel something stir within them. That moment of shared emotion is what keeps me returning to the canvas.
