Artists
Artistes Hudson Artists (AHA) is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization that supports a community of artists in Hudson and the surrounding Vaudreuil-Soulanges region of Quebec.
Our purpose is to promote the visual arts, provide a gathering place for members, and foster community interest in their work through exhibitions, workshops, and online sharing.
Monthly meetings and activities are held usually at the Stephen F. Shaar Community Centre in Hudson during the months of September, October, November, February, March, April, and May.
Artists are selected on their overall artistic ability and juried by established artists from our membership. There are currently over 60 members with a variety of styles and mediums. Members are expected to serve on the Executive or Standing Committee within three (3) years of joining AHA.
If you are a resident of Vaudreuil Soulanges area and would like to join AHA, please fill out the application form below. Hudson residents are given priority. If you are interested in displaying your art in our exhibitions, indicate this on the form. Exhibiting members must go to a jury selection in order to exhibit. If you wish to become a member without exhibiting, you can request to be juried another time. For exhibiting members, a $40 fee is requested per exhibition to cover the costs of the exhibition.
Two art exhibitions, one in the spring and one in the fall, are held at the Stephen F. Shaar Community Centre in Hudson. Members are invited to display and sell their works over a 3-day weekend.
Our general meetings also feature fascinating talks on art or practical demonstrations by visiting artists. For a $15 fee, visitors may attend these meetings, held at Stephen F. Shaar Community Centre in Hudson, QC.
